There was a special celebration held at the Pied Piper Preschool when Member for Bathurst Paul Toole officially opened extensions to the facility.
Mr Toole said the new addition was a $700,000 build, funded by the NSW Government to address the growing demand for childcare places in the Wallerawang area.
Mr Toole said it was great to be able to join preschool director Brad Campbell, local builder Darren Thompson, staff, parents and children for the opening ceremony last Wednesday afternoon.
“Local contractors worked on the project which made it a win, win situation for everyone involved,” he said.
“Now the extensions are completed, Piped Piper Preschool will be able to increase its capacity from 39 to 60 children.”
Mr Toole said Pied Piper also received a grant of $14,055 to replace the worn out shade sails which cover the outdoor playground areas.
The NSW Government’s Quality Learning Environments (QLE) grants provide not-for-profit community and mobile preschools and not-for-profit long day care services with support of up to $15,000 to purchase resources and activities which improve physical or educational learning environments.
