ACTIVE TRANSPORT PROJECTS ON THE WAY FOR LITHGOW

Lithgow will be receiving through the NSW Government’s Get NSW Active program $854,000, so the community have more options to get to work, school and explore the Lithgow area.

Paul Toole said, “Lithgow was among the beneficiaries of $40 million in funding to further experience the community in a healthy, sustainable way.”

“This is a fantastic outcome for the community that means we are a step closer to building projects that will deliver better connections for locals.”

The projects that have been funded include:

· Maple Crescent $200,000

Walkway construction to link to existing walkways.

· Hartley Valley Road $250,000

New footpath installation along Hartley Valley Road linking to existing industrial development.

· High Street, Portland $165,000

Construction of footpath along High Street.

· Barton Avenue Path $110,000

New path to extend existing path to bus stop and continuing to next intersection linking residents to public transport.

· Pindari Place Path $ 39,000

Construction of footpath along Pindari Place.

· Cullen Bullen Path $ 90,000

New footpath linking school to park and residential area.

We want everyone to have access to all the wonderful things Lithgow has to offer and the best way to do that is to get out on foot or on your bike and take it all in while enjoying the outdoors.
