ith the big community event to be held on February 12, Mr Toole ecured a Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF) grant of $58,000 for improvements at the venue.
The grant will allow for the construction of permanent facilities for yard dog trials at the showground.
Mr Toole said the new facilities would be of a standard high enough to be able to host competitions of a national standard.
“It’s great to be able to continue to support upgrades at the Oberon Showground,” he said.
“The $58,000 for yard dog facilities follows on from the $15,000 support package for the
Oberon Show Society to help it stage this Saturday’s annual show.”
Mr Toole said it’s great to see the Oberon Show go ahead in 2022 after having to be cancelled last year.
“I know a lot of hard work has gone on behind the scenes, especially from all the volunteers who give their time to act was stewards and help run the show,” he said.
