The contract to build the major upgrade at Millthorpe Public School has been awarded today with the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) construction contract awarded to Lipman PTY Ltd.
The upgrade will deliver a new two-storey learning hub, including ten new flexible learning spaces, a new library, maker spaces as well as new covered outdoor areas and walkways. Existing buildings will be upgraded to provide a new administration area and staff rooms, and the heritage block will be internally renovated.
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the upgraded school will provide students and teachers with innovative learning spaces and modern facilities.
“This upgrade will offer the students the opportunity to learn in modern learning environments,” Mr Toole said.
“The NSW Liberals & Nationals Government is working hard and delivering for our regions, creating a safer and strong regional NSW with investment in local schools.”
Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell said the NSW Government was building on the State’s world class education system.
“We are making the largest investment in public school infrastructure by any State Government in history. This includes building new schools, but also upgrading existing facilities to enhance the educational environment for students across the state,” Ms Mitchell said.
“Students in the bush aren’t missing out on our watch, and we will continue building and upgrading schools right across NSW.”
The NSW Government is investing $7 billion over the next four years, continuing its program to deliver more than 200 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
