Member for Bathurst Paul Toole had the pleasure of joining some members of Oberon Golf Club to officially open new amenities on the course.
The new amenities and shade structure are providing comfort for golfers who have reached the halfway mark of the course. The shade structure will provide protection from Oberon’s weather and will be set up as a catering station when tournaments or events are hosted.
The additions were made possible by a grant from the former NSW Government of $63,100 from the Stronger Country Communities Fund.
“The aim of this funding was to provide better amenities on the course which is expected to encourage more people to play golf at the picturesque Oberon Course,” Mr Toole said.
“Having a unisex disabled toilet is, according to the club, especially beneficial in making a round of golf more appealing for female players.”
Members of Oberon Golf Club said they have noted the new amenities are already getting great use and compliments by players. The convenience of not having to go all the way back to the clubhouse has been much appreciated. It will be put to the test in the coming weeks with Club Championships held later this month.
