TOOLE BACKS BATHURST MEDICAL CENTRE PROPOSAL

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole believes the proposal to build a $70 million medical centre in the heart of the Bathurst Central Business District will be a huge boost to medical services across the area, providing greater care and attracting more specialists to the region.

Mr Toole welcomed the concept plans for the development going on public display, giving residents a chance to comment on the proposal as part of the approval process.

Bathurst Regional Council now has the details for the medical centre on its YourSay website for feedback at: https://yoursay.bathurst.nsw.gov.au/

Mr Toole said the proposal for a six level facility with adjoining multi-level car park is being touted for the former Clancy Motors site in Howick Street.

“A development such as this would bring enormous benefits to the wider Bathurst community when it comes to the delivery of a range of healthcare facilities,” he said.

“I would urge the community to provide their feedback on the medical centre because it has the potential to be a game-change for health services in the region.”

Mr Toole said he also supports the proposed location for the medical centre in the Central Business District.

“With the adjoining car park, it offers a central, easily accessible location which would also give a huge impetus to supporting the local economy and create a vibrant and thriving CBD.”
